It's THE movie to see this holiday season... Life of Pi. Life of Pi is the story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper’s son, who survives adisaster at sea and is thrown into an epic journey. While adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with another a fearsome Bengal tiger.
You can watch the trailer for Life of Pi here.
With their global inspired home decor and gourmet food, World Market is the perfect partner for the Life of Pi movie. Take a look at some of the gorgeous items in store (at the Life of Pi display):

And the Life of Pi book (of course!) With all this Life of Pi inspiration, I was inspired to create an Indian inspired dish and meal:
At World Market, there are so many ingredients and items to choose from for create an Indian inspired meal!
MMM... I decided to create a main dish and use some of the items from the Life of Pi display at my local World Market store. The special Life of Pi Mango Black Tea and the Palak Paneer were featured on the Life of Pi Display while the other ingredients were available in the Indian food section.
Ingredients: 1 jar of Chicken Tikka Cooking Sauce, garlic and corriander naan, 1 cup of mayonaise, 1 cup of diced onions, 1 cup of frozen peas, 1 lb of diced cooked chicken. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the Chicken Tikka Cooking Sauce and the mayonaise.
Add the peas and the onions. Mix well.
Add diced chicken, stirring gently.
Spray casserole dish with cooking spray, add mixture and cook at 350 for 30 minutes. While you're waiting...
Chop the naan into bite size pieces.
Take the casserole out after 30 minutes and add naan. Bake for 5-10 more minutes.
The Chicken Tikka Casserole makes a delicious main dish, served along with Jasmine Rice, Palak Paneer and special edition Mango Black Tea, it's a oh-so-satisfying Indian inspired meal.
There are so many colorful and practical items at World Market. I used a small rug as a table covering and some fantastic dishware pieces from World Market as dishes and serving pieces. A charming elephant, tea cups with "tiger" scratch marks--perfect (!) and some deep blue dishes don the table.
Small bowls were the perfect size to hold aromatic Jasmine Rice.
A small box festooned with an elephant (from the Life of Pi display) makes a darling takeaway for this Life of Pi inspired meal.
I used to gold craft paint to embellish ivory napkins from World Market and also painted small plastic tigers that guests could take as a reminder of our scrumptious Life of Pi inspired gathering.

I've always been intimidated to make chicken tikka. Thanks for the easy recipe! So awesome that the ingredients can be found at World Market. And the elephant dish and the pig one just like it are my favorites!
